snail
The snails are a continuation of a series that has captured my attention for now...it springs from the idea that resonates deeply in me....honoring of the bottom, the edge, the unnoticed, the outsider as having a special place.
Most of these are small to tiny works..ranging in size from 2.5" x 3.5" to 9"x11". I have used Arches watercolor 300# paper and am doing some in bristol board. Most of these are sketched with India ink and brush and colored with watercolor and watercolor crayons (for texture and color enhancment).
My model is singular. I did initial sketches quickly and let him get back to his business..
The four here are formatted as "trading cards". They are 2.5" x 3.5" and each has its own custom-sized envelope.
